At a convention, an efficiency expert gives a lecture on saving time and money. He ends with a note of caution: "You don't want to try these techniques at home."
"Why not?" asks someone in the audience.
"I watched my wife's routine at breakfast for years," the expert explains. "She made lots of trips to the refrigerator, stove and table, often carrying just a single item. So finally one morning I suggested, 'Honey, why don't you try carrying several things at once?'"
"Did it save time?" another person asks.
Says the expert, "Actually, it did. It used to take her 20 minutes to get breakfast ready. Now I do it in about 10."
