The Hills

Newlyweds Bob and Betty Hill were vacationing in Europe, in Transylvania. They were driving along a rather deserted road at night and it was raining very hard. Bob misjudged a turn in the unfamiliar road and lost control of the car and hit a tree.

Bob shakes his head to clear the fog and looked over to see his bride unconscious and bleeding from the head. Bob carefully lifted his wife out of the car and carried her down the road in the rain to an old, large house.

He knocked on the door and a small, hunched man opened it. Bob told the hunchback what happened and asked to use the phone. The hunchback told him that they had no phone, but that his master was a doctor. He invited the injured couple in and went to get his master.

A sophisticated man in a white lab coat came down the large staircase and said, "I'm afraid my assistant may have misled you. I am not a medical doctor. I am a scientist. However, it is many miles to the nearest clinic, and I have had basic medical training. I will see what I can do. Igor, bring them down to the laboratory."

Igor picked up Betty and carried her downstairs, with Bob close behind.

Igor placed Betty on a table in the lab. Bob collapsed from exhaustion and his own injuries, so Igor placed him on an adjoining table.

After a brief examination, Igor's master looked worried. "Things are serious, Igor. Prepare a transfusion."

Igor and his master work feverishly, but to no avail. Bob and Betty Hill both passed away.

The Hills' deaths upset Igor's master greatly. Wearily, he climbed the steps to his conservatory and began to play his pipe organ, trying to find comfort in the music. He played a stirring, haunting melody which filled the house.

Meanwhile, Igor was still in the lab cleaning up.

As the music filled the lab, his eyes caught movement. He noticed the fingers on Betty Hill's hand twitch. Stunned, he watched as Bob's arm began to rise! He took a step back when Betty sat straight up!

He dashed up the stairs to the conservatory and yelled, "Master, Master! The Hills are alive with the sound of music!"
